As bad as the privacy violation and health risks are, that it’s even on the table is amazing. Even more amazing is that most people (in the U.S.) don’t give a fennig about it. DM

In India….the environment minister has indefinitely blocked the approval of any further GM varieties…

Note: It’s not just for transactions between financial institutions to capture speculation money revenue as it happens, this is on (possibly) any transaction, definitely including accessing your own money at an ATM, even though that doesn’t constitute a purchase of anything with a third party. I don’t know if it applies to credit card purchases of goods & services, and if not, then this will also discourage the use of cash at all.
